Changdeokgung Palace
/The changdeokgung Palace was the first major site we saw in Seoul, and it was spectacular. The palace was built as a secondary palace of the Joseon Dynasty in 1405, during King Taejong's reign. Changdeokgung served as the residence for many kings and later it became the main palace. Most of this palace was destroyed during the Japanese invasion in 1592. The palace was reconstruced in 1610 and served as the main palace for the next 270 years. View the entire photo gallery.
